It was a tough day at Rufus with only one fish to the boat and a number hooked and lost until the rain started. Finished the limit and had the best of the bite late in the afternoon at the can line. Black Wooly Buggers with some sparkle in their tails behind Action Disks trolled off of downriggers between 10 and 20 feet deep is what finally worked. Speeds from a little less than 1mph all the way up to a bit over 2 are worth trying.

I thought the loss of tail was from being in the nets? Why would they clip their tails?

First I've heard of the Fisheries Department "clipping tails", Why would they do so?? Loss from being in pens/nets I've heard before. Any comments sirfishalot as to where you heard the department clips Tails?
