Well, we did it. made the big trek over to RW on Friday night after work. I took Trout Magnet, my brother and our very GOOD friend Dug.

Hit the second set of net pens first off from Seton Grove Boat launch. seen a bunch of fish surfacing but could get them to take my black rooster tail or my Maribo jig. The only action off the bottom there was the lines that were holding the pens in place. After about 3 hours of that we headed back towards the first set of pens from Seaton. Much better there. Trout magnet broke the ice with what I think was a 5lb native. In no time I had me a tagged 8lb trip to the boat. Biggest dam trout I've ever landed. At this point we have two anchors in our boat (Dan, Doug) So trout and I start talking smack. You know what I mean.. the ..."did you see that fish I caught" or the "I remember when I didn't have a fish in the boat, but that wasn't today" talk. Then Dan pulls up an 8lb to match mine. So that left the lone ranger and we let him have it... the whole trip. With the tips bluffin gave us, we should be more productive next time... but I'm not going t ocomplain with the slabs we came home with. The snow bloew us out the second day and we barely made it over the pass before the all chains required came out.
A great time with great friends. Thanks.

Way to go Guys, it was great meeting you guys, and glad you pulled some RW tripps from the water. As your time on RW increases, you will begin developing a technique that will produce for you consistently, but it is as BodoFish has said, Some days on RW is all about catching and Other days you just fish alot.. But it is a great place to spend time on the water. Good to hear you guys made it over the hill before chains required, and this time of year is sometimes difficult to time the trips over to the eastside between storms. Best of luck to you and may your travels be safe.
