Awake at 0430, and off to Rufus at 0500. A bit slickery out this morning, but we made it to setons grove by 0800 after a short stop at Mcdonalds for a morning gut bomb. Trolled hardbaits and flys for a few hours when we decided it was the wrong thing to do. I think the presenatation was a bit to fast, but I did hook into one fish. I thought I just picked up some grass when my pole bent a bit, and felt nothing but some additional weight. This fish did not move at all even when next to the boat. I kept giving her slack line untill she wiggled free and swam off. A small rainbow about 13 inches. Everything we were marking was suspeded so we strated drop shotting nightcrawlers - nothing. Our last attempt was jigging real slow with small tube baits. We managed 3 trips this way, 4.5, 5, and 6. Nothing real big, but still nice fish. Surface temp was 44 degrees. I think when the water temp gets below the high 40s it's time to put away the trolling gear and slow her down. Not many boats on the water, but a lot of bank fisher folks. I wonder how they did?
