We arrived at American Lake at 10:00 AM. Started electric trolling from the boat launch heading towards the other side where the VA dock was and instantly had one fish on! The fish hit the lure so hard it was jumping out of the water, and gave a good fight all the way up to the boat, to where I netted a beautiful 14'inch bright rainbow trout. I thought we were on to something and the fish catches would keep on coming, but it wasn’t the case, there were no bites anywhere for the rest of the day. We decided to anchor and cast out, using every power bate arsenal available including your common night crawler, with no results. We fished till 4 PM, and noticed all day that the fish weren't surfacing or jumping on top of the waters for insects after the many fresh rainfalls. This is a beautiful lake, and I know there is big fish to be caught here, I'll be back...
