Had a chance to take my dad fishing. Hit Beaver around 11am. The weather was great and the water smooth. Surface temp was 42 degrees. Tried for some bass for about 30 minutes before giving up and trolling for trout. Hit the middle of the lake and saw some fish on the finder down around 30 feet, so got the downrigger set up and sent my gear down while my dad trolled closer to the surface. We ran all around the north end of the lake using flatfish, plugs, and spinners with no luck. Fished from 5-40 feet down. After seeing the first group of fish on the finder, that was pretty much it for the rest of the day as I didn't pick up much else on the screen after that even after wandering all over the lake. Never had any hits, so bagged it around 3pm. Saw a couple nice size rainbows go out at the launch taken by bait fishermen. Nice day on the water...and that's about it.
