My buddy and I thought we'd try our luck on Beaver. Started from the launch with Rooster Tails then trolled to about mid lake. With absolutely no strikes we stopped our boat to relax. We drifted over towards the shore, less than 100 feet away when my buddy rapidly changed to his #6 (the combo meal) which was a sparkly pink Power Egg with a half of fatty worm, then he added a medium sized split shot. We were probably at around 10-15 feet in depth when I saw his rod begin to bounce no less than a minute after his cast. He wasn't paying attention at the time, this strike was quite the shocker. Anyways, He wrangled it in to release the hook, come to find out, this thing is like 14 to 15 inches and pretty girthy, probably a brood stock. I however, was skunked with no fish but still had a great day. We spent the next hour or so trolling around, hunting for trophies. On a side note, we were stopped at the boat launch by the fuzz. Just a routine liscence check and were soon out of there.
