Well, after wrasslin' with Turbo Tax most of yesterday, I heard those Roses Lake trout calling me. Got Al to go. We pulled flies just under the surface. Truly though, you can catch them on whatever. It's pretty good fishing right now with water temps around 45F. We took about an hour to loop the lake. Spent 2 hours, did 2 loops and caught 2 limits of trout. One nice tiger in the bunch. That really is only a quarter of it. We probably lost 5 or 6 fish that we had on most of the way to the boat. We probably had 4 or 5 bites for every fish that we had on.

We are fishing about 150' back with a 1/4 ounce bullet weight in front of a small / clear action disk by wiggle fin. We fished black, green and purple conehead and beadhead flies. Both Wooly Buggers and Muddlers in sizes from #8 to 2/0. Today, the 1/0 Black beadhead Bugger with sparkle in the tail did best. They all got bit. This is a great time to get your grade school age kids and grandkis out there. Bundle them up, bring some hot chocolate and let 'em have some fun. We are calling these guys mini-marlin for the acrobatics that they put on when hooked. That middle fish in the pictures shows the tiger trout coloration pattern pretty well.

Tight lines, Anton

Are those fish (in the picture)threaded onto a fishing pole? I can honestly say, never seen that before! How important is the wiggle fin? I have golf tees but no wiggle fins.

Yes, they are strung on a fishing rod. The wiggle fin really gives flies with a maribou tail a very live / erratic action. You could use a dodger to do that. I don't think a tee would displace enough water. I probably isn't necessary now, because the fish are so eager to bite. Anton
