Was happy to wake up to no rain this morning, so I setup on the t-dock on the east shore at NE 64th street. Had my power egg/bait combo in the water at 5:45am. Got first nibbles at 6:10, no hook up. Then a strike at about 7, no hook up. Then the rod tip started a wigglin again at 7:30, picked it up, tug-tug, hookset, whammo, fish on. Felt good all the way in. Drug it to shore to bank it. About a 14 incher, pretty good for this water. Got a couple more strikes but no more hookups before leaving at 9:30. Pretty windy and chilly, but no rain, thank goodness.

Are the fish edible at Green Lake?? I've heard there's a ton that get stocked, but have been told more than a few times to not eat the fish in there. Just curious

A common question for Green Lake. I have heard arguments both for and against. I figure its ok to eat a few now and then. I have eaten some, and am still alive. Sure my hair is falling out and skin is deteriorating, but I figure it's about time for that anywho. :)

I too have caught a few trout in Green Lake and had them for lunch. They were great baked in the oven using a simple trout recipe. No problems here either. At the same time, the ones I caught were stocked, so I figured they were safe enough. I don't think I would eat something that has been lurking at the bottom for a few years though.

Nice hold over!
As for eating fish at Green lake, the way I look at contamination is how old is the fish. The older the fish, the more contamination it's going to hold. Green lake hatchery trout can't be more than couple years old. I would say they're fine, probably just as safe as the grocery stores.

That makes sense, if they are old and decrepid, toss em back hahahaha

Shoot, I think it's time to get my butt out there. Any suggestions on what part of the lake, which dock, to hit?
I'm off monday's, so hopefully it won't be too crowded etc. If anyone knows what part of the lake is the hottest spot, with a dock, any info would be much appreciated.

I grew up around Green Lk early in my childhood and spent many hours off the docks. Brings back many memories...I think that's the dock I fell into the water on my bike and lost my 'little professor' glasses in the process. lol
Nice pictures Ubanger!
