Tried footballs, dropshot, worm, many colors and presentations, also tried a number of cranks, shallow and deep, not a single bite. Didn't see any action on the lake, and circled pretty much the whole thing. I've never been able to pull a bite off this lake.

I fished that lake twice last year, and it was the most sterile water I've ever seen. (no bites/fish)

I used to fish that little lake quite a bit during the early season. Caught lots of bass -- the biggest was a slim 21 incher that weighed 4 pounds, 10 ounces -- And, that fish was caught and released on March 14th -- 1996.

I was on the lake 2 or 3 times last year too, plus duck hunting... but it's just never really produced for me. I've heard of many people catching so I always give it another try (and it's roughly 2miles from my house so...)

Bob what kind of bait and presentation did you use. I too have been skunked on that lake but that was years ago. I have heard the fishing there is good if you know what they like. From what I remember of bass lake is that it is very weedy with lots of lillies and cat tails covering the shore. try any frogs , buzzbaits or jigs there yet Dustin ? Last time I fished it was around 95' and my fishing skills where limited to t rigged worms and tubes , niether of which worked for me. No bites for me at bass lake too , but I figured I was just fishing it wrong. Any insight on how to approach this lake from anyone. I tend to have no luck in similar lakes with soft peatmoss type bottoms.

Bob, I tried frogs there last summer, and buzzbaits. Not sure why I didn't try the buzz this last weekend. I worked mostly jigs, football head and drop shot, and threw some cranks too. the lillys are not yet there. The weeds have died back to a very reasonable level where you can work the shoreline and not get completely frustrated. To give you an idea, I ran 5lb test that day. On a weedy day I know that wouldn't last 2 casts...

I need to try to sneak out there after work maybe this week and try some slower presentations. everyone says this lake has a history of producing.. just gotta figure it out.
