My buddy and I hit the lake about 11am and trolled for 2 hours w/o a single strike. We tried wedding rings of various colors, small willow leaf gang trolls and a few other odds-n-ends with worms. At 1pm we tied up along the pilings at the NE end of the lake. Scads of fish were showing on the finder and we caught 6 nice chunky rainbows between 1 and 3 pm before the bite quit. Having pretty fair weather and good company we continued fishing until about 4 then went exploring. By the way, at this time there were hardly any fish showing on the finder anywhere along the pilings, a few, but very few. We found some along the north end where the two heavily used bank fishing spots are but no big clusters anywyere like were at the pilings when we first got there. This was my first real attempt at fishing Nahwatzel although I tried it once last year but had a son-in-law and 3 grandkids along so it was mostly just an outing for the kids. Supposedly there were 500 cutrhroats planted on 3/11 but all we caught were rainbows. Saw a couple guys bank fishing when we first got there but they soon left and I don't know if they caught anything or not. Just before we left we saw a guy that had just started flyfishing. As we got close to the ramp we saw a young couple in a canoe that were trolling flatfish and she hooked/released a nice one. Well, guess I've rambled on enough. Happy St. Patrick's day and may the wind at your back not be from the corned-beef and cabbage ya ate.

Nice report sounds like a good time. Did you happen to get the water temp?

thnx for the report....been wonder'n if that little lake was pick'n up...I've always found fish around to the left as you leave the ramp...there's kind of a steep drop along that bank down to 20ft pretty quick
as for the cuts i'll bet they are hold up close to shore....we caught 'em at offut casting green wedding rings right up on the beach...im tell'n ya they arnt no prize tho....they're dark dark brown and skinnnnny as heck...we C&R'd all the 1s we caught
as for not see'n 'em on the graph ya gotta remember your only in about 20ft of water and your beam's pretty narrow
anyways good luck out there and please fire us another report if it picks up or if ya try them cuts again...bet ya'll C&R 'em too lolol poor sickly look'n buggers
P.S. i've caught some nice perch out of that lake too

Thanks guys. As for the water temp, I didn't take note of it. For me the time to go fishing is anytime ya can irregardless of the water temp. At my age I'm far more concerned with my own comfort (air temp) than the lil' fishies.

Okay, I'm an ol dog too but what does "C&R" stand for. I wanna lol too.

Okay, right after I posted, my ol brain kicked in and I figured that C&R stood for Catch & Release and ya I'm not only lol I'm rotflol. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy C&R but I'm a gonna find out tonight if those lil chunks taste like chicken, fish, or something else.
