I don't care what anyone says, this lake is a MESS ever since they started "treating" the lily pads!! It seems to be in a constant algae bloom now, almost every 5 degrees the water warms up, it blooms thick green algae, it's ridiculous!! I wonder if those moron's ever keep track of the adverse affects their "treatments" have on bodies of water? I have been fishing this lake consistently for 11 years and have never, in that time, seen it as bad as it has been the past three years, if those are my tax dollars at work, I want them back!!
Water temps 46* to start the morning at 8:30, and 50.5* by the time we left at 1pm. Water clarity...CRAP! Can't see bottom in 4 feet of water and there are clumps of green goo floating everywhere! I caught one fish on a jig near the dock that has the creek flowing in on it, and after literally searching the ENTIRE rest of the lake, we did not so much as SEE another bass!! Went back to the creek dock at 12:30 and let my co-worker fish it by himself, he hooked and landed his biggest to date at 3.8lbs! I was happy for him, but sad for what was becoming one of the premier Washington largemouth fisheries, and now is just a nightmare of algae and slime covered pad stems! I think the only reason we caught fish on that dock is because of the fresh water inlet? It's the only shallow place they can friggin' breath!!!
Sorry for the ranting report, but I have been told the "treatments" don't harm fish, but what about the eco-system of the lake? Jack that up and it's gonna harm the fish!!! DUH! I would like to give them some "treatments"!!
