First off, fished Alder Lake on Friday. Put in at Rocky Point and fished around there and across lake near the big point. Tried most all bass tactics and only mustered up an 8" Kokanee caught on a Rapala jointed shad.

OK, today. Put in at Alder. Fished around there for a bit. My buddy was not there yet. I went in between the big island and the point of land that has some houses on it. Wanted to fish the point off that island. First cast, got a huge back lash. I have been using bait casters since 1980 or 1981 and have only had one backlash that I have had to cut. Well, today was #2.

Meanwhile, my buddy calls me, he is at the ramp ready for me to pick him up. I get done messing around, break my pole down as I had hardly any line left on it, start up the motor and race over to the other side to get him. I pull up to the dock and he is kind of loading his junk up, and I can hear this weird buzzing sound. Finally found it, I had a little tiny bit of water in the back of my 12' Smokercraft and when I took off, my phone slid off the seat and into the water.

Prognosis does not look good. It is a touch screen phone, and I am sure it is ruined, there is no life in it, as of now, 10 hours later.

Went back over to what would be the south side of the big island. Threw everything in the world out there including dropshotting a live nightcrawler (this works well for trout, and bass alike). Nothing. I, eventually, get hung up, give a couple jerks and snap. Break my pole right in two. The top piece, which included all the guides as it broke like a foot up from the handle slid so fast into the water and gone.

Ended up in the no wake zone of the Little Nisqualie (sp?) and fished for a couple more hours with not so much as even a nibble.

Beautiful day on the lake, but it was on of my worse days fishing, ever:(
