Wednesday and Thursday I had it dialed in, but today I couldn't buy a fish. Some people were having luck, and I naturally eavesdropped on their conversations about what was working and tried to match their tactics, but to no avail. The anglers catching all the fish today were using #16 black chironomids fished four or five feet deep under indicators. The closest I had to what they described to each other was a #16 black Ice Cream Cone with a red rib, a pattern that I've often had banner days with on Amber, but like I said, skunk-o-rama! I'll try again tomorrow.

Wow, that is surprising. A black snowcone with red rib is a staple at Amber. Lately I've had good success there with both black with silver ribs and the mentioned snowcones, however I've been fishing 10 feet down in 13-15 feet of water. This has worked well on brighter days where the fish seem reluctant to hit the shallow water.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to tie some up with silver ribs.
