Lake Chelan has been pumping out the Lakers very steady but this last week my focus was at Rufus Woods where we targeted the shorelines for the Triploid Rainbows..
I caught fish on Kastmasters in green and my beaded wooleybugger flies but the most productive was the Super Roostertail in 1/4 oz using a very slow and then stop retrieve.
Fished my normal spots from the pens downlake to pump 1 and found alot of the recent "pen releasers" around the pens but did manage to catch a couple above 6lbs. up at the first set of pens.
We "bass fished for trout" along both sides of the shores to find some great trout fishing all the way down the reservoir. Caught my first Brown for the year at the goose nests and found a bunch of Perch at the rock slide on the Reservation side just above Pump 3.
As the Temps warm up, the morning bite on Rufus should remain good but when the suns high in the sky you will want to slide out from shore in a little deeper water to still have productive fishing.
Crappie jigs in 1/16th oz. in white and pink will bang the perch and the rainbows up at the rocks slides..
For Questions feel free to email anytime or just call my cell#. Sure was nice to get back to Rufus.. What a beautiful spot!!! Tight Lines to all and Good Luck!!!
