Flyguy1701, sounds kinda fishy. Are you trying to keep us away from Amber??!! Two consecutive skunks? Just kidding. Hey, here's a tip for Amber. On days where chronie fishing is slow, or the hatch is non-existent, try some small nymphs like still waters, hares ears, PTs, skips nymphs, copper johns, etc., all under an indicator. These nymphs have saved my day on several occasions at Amber. Just last week I met a gentleman who was skunked until I told him of the nymph trick. A few minutes later he was getting fish on a copper john. Here's something else I've learned about Amber. The "hatch" is usually a series of hatches, with types, sizes and colors varying widely as the day progresses. While black is possibly the most common color, NEVER neglect your red, olive, maroon and chromie patterns. For example, I may hit 7-8 fish on a black pattern then have it suddenly stop producing. I'll immediately start going through my box, giving each pattern 5-10 minutes, until I find the next one they want. Makes perfect sense, I know, however some folks are reluctant to change from what WAS working. I have had days on Amber where fish aggressively took 7-8 various patterns, all at different times of the day. At Amber, be prepared to change quickly and often!!!

P.S. I noticed that your report listed morning as your fishing time. I understand the "fish when you can" thing, however, Amber is not normally a morning lake. I have lost count of how many times I showed up at 0900 and didn't catch a fish til after 1100 or so. In my experience feeds are best from later morning until mid-afternoon. Good luck.
