Okay well let me start off saying that fishing yesterday was frustrating to say the lest. We tried free floating nightcrawlers, spinners, plastics, bobber fishing, and other assorted secrets. We were able to pick up the perch with ease but we were after the bass.... So to begin with we launched the boat and headed north water was choppy, wind was blowing hard, and the rain ha that rain would only let up so long for you to think you can start getting dry, then it would come down even harder. We moved to the west side of the lake to again not having any luck with are bass skills, so with a wild hair we decided to hit the far south end just before night fall. We fish for about another 20 or 30 mins when my Uncle said to me that we should call it, I turned to him and said you see that log coming out of the water, cast to the left and over, then pull your lure over the top of it slowly, he did like any other would do wanting to leave, annoyed that i wanted to stay longer. As soon as the lure made it to are side of the log, he said OH THANKS, with sarcasim in his speach, I that he had gotten a snag, but I couldnt have been more wrong. He yelled I got one, I was happy then he said grab the net I laughed and shrugged my shoulders, again where's the NET. I hurryed over grabbing the net and saw the fish, WOW it was a huge bass. Very jeliouse at the fact that he caught this beauty, I continued to cast in every direction with no such luck. But in the end we had a good time soaking wet, cold, hungry, and tired. We practiced CPR (catch, photo, release) and went home. He was using a 4" black back and red/orange underbelly rapalla shallow dive, water was right around 44 or 45 degrees.

Nice Bass! Great to see someone catch one on a crankbait out of this lake, you two are truly die hard fishermen!

think i saw you on monday, fishing yellow bobbers and catchin perch? two of you just north of my uncles cabin. the three of us were out fishin for a bit not a whole lot of fish. but as you know there are huge bass in this lake... look back on the eloika reports this time last year youll see my 72 perch day and this time two years ago a 6.5lb bass caught through the ice (both with a pic and report)... like i said Eloika is one of the best spiny ray fisheries around

Hey great large mouth bass, I bet your uncle was smiling and the wind and chills were not so bad after that nice catch. I have caught several nice bass there but have not fished it since the early 80" s. Need to go there this year. How big are the perch now days there? Good luck and keep a tight line. Kris K.
