There's something to be said about not knowing what your doing. I really went out to test the boat i picked up.
Loaded up a rainbow spoon and headed out from the public ramp. I made a short loop, never leaving 25' of water. Missed one. On the way back toward the ramp, the pole doubled over. Half an hour later I got the fish to the surface. My first thought was "I need a bigger net". Ten minutes or so later, he was in the net and I was on the way back to the ramp.
Just as I backed the trailer in, here comes the game warden. Nice guy, took pictures for me.
Did everything "wrong" but still caught a nice Mackinaw. 15lbs & 36", beginners luck.
Went today and caught 4-2lbs trout, was a good couple of days.
Oh, and the boat ran great.

Don't mind the dates on the camera, I always forget to set it.

He was just checking to make sure everything was legit. We talked about open carry and that was about it.

Is there a limit on the size of boat that you can put in there. Never been there , just curious if its a big enough lake for a 20' fish boat?

I don't think there is a limit on boat size, but the area of the public ramp is very shallow. I believe there is another ramp tho.
The lake is definitely big enough for a 20', most of the area I've marked at 60' deep or better.

You will not be able to launch a 20 ft boat at public launch. No slope to the boat launch and your truck will be way out there. I had a hard time staying dry launching a 14 fter.

That public launch sucks. Think there is a resort with another launch though. Not sure of the name or how far back it is.

Nice Mack! It is good to see that the water came up. It was 20 inches lower last week and very difficult to launch at the public ramp. Most boats were launching at the resort because the water was so low. It is amazing it came up so quickly.

a much nicer resort launch is just a couple miles further down the road. take a left at the "Y" where the public launch is and you'll run right into the resort/campground. it's expensive to launch there though ($9 i think) and parking is horrid. also i dont think they open until May 1. the other resort is right at the "Y" but i've never launched there so i don't know anything about it.

We launched our 12' yesterday at the public ramp and the boat floated off and on just fine....easier than Sprague Lake.
