While slow trolling a bunny leech I picked up two average size 14-16" rainbows in the usual places (10' off shore, east and west sides of the lake). The fishing is still a little slow as the water temp. is 42-45. As the sun warmed the surface a nice midge hatch came off and there was surface feeding in the center of the lake. However, getting them to take a midge is not an easy task. A switch to a damsel nymph on floating line in the shallows did the damage for the day, producing a 23" fatty lurking near shore under the over hanging trees. Having caught and released three I considered it a fine day. The added view of the freshly snow covered Olympics always supplies that special touch that makes fishing Cady worth it, fish or no fish.
