John Arnott and his son Sam (9) were nice enough to come out with me for a few hours. Due to travel plans we did a mid day trip. The best of it was the potholes below the Bar and above the Trench. We did get some fish in the trench. It was absolutely gorgeous on the water. One of my first T-shirt days.

The venerable U20 Luminous chartreuse flatfish caught a couple of the fish. But the bigger producer of fish and bites was Silver Hordes Kingfisher Lite in the Glow Flame Spatter Back pattern. As usual we were pounding away within 5 feet of the bottom. Basically, John deckhanded for me and young Sam caught the fish. Check out his smile in the pictures. In my opinion, he did a lot towards fostering a lifelong interest in angling for his boy.

I saw one kokanee netted by a guy between me and Rocky Point. There was a lot apparent surface Kokanee action in terms of dimpling and jumping. The surface temp shot up to almost 54F in the middle of the day so they should start to bite this week. We like Mack's Lures big Blade combos (either Flash Lites or Hot Wings) in front of their red and gree Kokanee Pro Double Whammy Wedding ring baited with Pautzke's fire corn. We rotate through the different colors as the bite changes. Keep an eye on our web site. We will be offering a Kokanee Special trip this spring to take advantage of this bite.

Tight Lines,

Anton
