I had the best fishing day EVER!!! I decided to head out to Wye lake this morning instead of Island. I launched my pond prowler at 0800 this morning. There were two other boats out on the lake. My day started out with smoke coming from my eagle fishfinder. I hope I didn't fry it but I still got my old one to use until I figure out what happened to my new one. I started trolling a 1/8 ounce gold little cleo with no hits. I decided to try a couple new bass lures I bought to see they would work. I didn't get any hits on those either. I tied on a chart colored J-7 Rapala and I started catching fish. The first fish I caught was the biggest trout I ever caught or seen caught in person. This monster was about 22-24" long and weighed at least 4lbs or more. I managed to get her in the boat and take the hook out and the fish started flopping around and made back into the water. I was bummed out because I wanted to take a picture of it. I would've released it after I took a pic.The body on this fish was huge it made the head look small. The second fish I caught was about 10" and fought hard. I trolled back up the lake and caught a 20-21" long and weighed about 3lbs. I fought this one for a little bit to wear it out. I got it to the boat and was gonna lift up into the boat but it shook one more time and the hook came out. Again I was bummed I couldn't get a pic of it. The next fish I caught was about 15'' and I did get a pic of that one. The last fish I caught was 12" and it fought hard. I got a picture of that one. The first thing I'm gonna do is put my net in my truck so I can net these monsters. Can't wait to go back and catch some more fish from this lake!!
