I arrived at the lake at about 0400. The park had allowed campers for the night, the only time of the year this is allowed. People had staked out their spots they had hoped to fish in the morning from the prior night judging from all the lawn chairs setup by the lake with no people in them. Some people had started to stir and a few like myself were ready for the day. I found a spot on the south side of the lake so I could watch what I knew would be an interisting morning facing the boat launch. I was using a number 12 hook and come greenish power eggs. I find these stay on the hook a lot longer. First cast I had a fish on in just a couple of minutes. Nice 14" rainbow then no more bites for about a half hour. Then just a few small plants. Left the lake about 0730 when to many people came out to play. Nice morning fishing even with the rain.
