A return trip to McMurray this week. Fishing at 11am, cold wet and breezy. Water temp. 53 degrees. Used clear intermediate sink trolling or stripping black, brown, green and white buggers. Landed 15 fish in 4.5 hours and missed as many. This fish are now much more aggressive and really hammered the flies. 14-17" and do not come in easily. Not much pressure in the middle of the week. A new problem at the launch however. When I first arrived there was a large log floating down the middle of the lake from the north. It first parked itself along a dock north of the launch. then when the wind let up, it ended up smack dab in front of the launch, covering more than 3/4 of it. This log broke free from someone's property, it has a rope on it. It will need to be towed by someone and put someplace where it will not cause any damage. I tried calling WDFW but was put on hold for ever.... so beware on thursday morning.

Thanks for the report. My electronics show schools of fish in the middle of the lake, just north of the log (the log that is north of the launch) so I was curious to know if that is where you are fishing. I know the lake was stocked with several thousand ¾ pound fish so I am sure they are everywhere, I was just curious to know where you were fishing. I wonder if calling Skagit County might yield better results regarding the log. I hope to fish McMurray once or twice over the next 3 days so if it's still there when I am, I will give the county a call. Or maybe someone with a larger boat will be kind enough to tow it away from the launch for all of us. Thanks again.
