Hit the derby with my son yesterday. Wow, can you say PACKED!! Got there around 7 and had to struggle to find a spot. Found a nice one on the backside of the lake and got to business. Set him up with everything and even let him use my lamiglas (which wasn't easy). We had a blast. Consistent hits all day long. Got him 2 nice bows both between 1 - 1.5 pounds (with a little help from dad). Stayed till about 2. On the way out saw at least a dozen adults just fishin' away with no regard for the signs posted everywhere "JUVENILE FISHING ONLY MAY 15 - JUNE 7". Hopefully the patrols kicked in soon after. Just a lack of respect for all the hard work people put in to the derby and the lake itself. Those fish are meant for the kids. Anyways, had a great day out there.

hey salmon slayer, gumby here ,was totally pissed yesterday evening, told a few immagrants and adults who know better a thing or two. but didnt want to get in to much trouble last night with my kids and girlfriend there. went back today at 4 pm, today walked the back side, and was beside myself over 10 adults hiding and fishing, this time i went nuts, told them all what i thought, cleared the back side out in ten minutes after telling them all i called the police and on the way . we didnt catch any big ones tonight but saw about 4 between 4 and 5 lbs reeled in left by 7, was police and park guys there wouldnt get out of there vehicles or do anything, big fish are dissapearing fast, saw over 20 dead trout laying on shore from adults and people who just dont care, wish i new what else to do ,trying to be a stand up dad, and a sportsman, good luck fishing, and take a stand, if nothing else, it will make you feel better

Yah, I agree. I haven't been back since the derby but I was there with my son last year and saw the same thing. Pretty much did the same thing you did only I called the poaching hotline with my cellphone and gave them some info. They said they'd check it out. Not sure if they did but I did manage to scare a couple of them off. These people have no regard for the rules. I hate seeing this. It makes my blood boil.

After what I have seen in the past, We are just going to stay away till after the 7th. It is the only way I can keep my sanity and not do something stupid.

It is completely ridiculous what the Illegal fishers are doing out there and you know a few of them will fall back on the no speak da english card. I Honestly don't think the state gives a crap either or it would stop right? I have never seen an official there of any kind ever.

Oh and for the guy that was saying how much garbage ends up out there, I couldn't agree more. I have pulled hundreds of yards of line off the shores of the lake just last year alone.

Sorry for the rant, but it's good to see their are others out there that notice this as well.
