This report is for the entire weekend, and for numerous species of fish.

LowVW and I left the Everett area on Thursday right after work. We arrived at Steamboat Rock state park around 7 and immediately dropped our tubes in the water along the roadside. We caught some smallies there, but nothing over 1 pound. We only fished for about two hours before night fall.

Friday morning we put into the Devils Punchbowl and fished the nearby reeds bright and early. Surprisingly, we got nothing out of the weed beds. We jumped across to the other side by the road and I hooked into a small smallmouth there. Shortly thereafter I hooked into a walleye to my surprise. I caught it on a 5" Yum Dinger, purple. Only my second time catching them. Released it. We didnt do as well as we hoped, so we met up with some other friends and went to Roosevelt, where both LowVW and myself caught two rainbows each, all around 18-20". Just beautiful fish. It seems our spot is getting better with each passing year. It generally only nets one-two fish. That evening, we launched out of the boat ramp in between steamboat and Jones Bay. From there, Low hooked into two largemouth, one after another, weighing 2.5-3 pounds each. That was it for him, but I kept hitting them, with a few going 2 to 2.5 pounds. Surprisingly we were getting more largemouth than smallies, and we were fishing deep dropoff rocks.

Saturday morning we headed directly to Roosevelt, where even more rainbows were caught. Throughout the day we hit various areas of Banks, landing some decent fish. I hooked into a pig of a smallmouth, fighting it for a minute or so. As soon as I got it up to my tube, I went to lip it. Well that fish didnt appreciate it much, and slashed its head, breaking the line in my face. Looked around 4 pounds! Man I was mad. I should have taken more time to get it tired, but I was excited. That evening, we decided to use the incoming wind to troll for Walleye and Perch. Low hooked into a nice little 4" perch lol. Lucky guy got released. It was nice to troll and use the wind, because my legs were pretty damn tired from kicking for two straight days. About an hour into this, I hooked into a smaller perch and let it go. No more than a minute later, I landed a good sized Walleye. LowVW handed my some pliers and I got the hook out. I handed the pliers back, and he recommended I beat it with the pliers, so as I reach to get the pliers back, the walleye starts flipping all over the place and nearly bounced out of my tube. Luckily I reached out and smacked it back in, but knocked LowVWs pliers into the water. That was my first walleye (intentionally trying anyways). We added it to the stringer, along with Low's decent sized perch. Our other friends found a nice little spot with their tubes, and hooked into 9 good sized walleye in about an hour. That night, instead of evening fishing, we cooked up one of the trout with some lime and butter. Tasty!

Sunday morning, we went to Roosevelt again, and I got one rainbows. At one point, both me and another friend hooked into rainbows at the same time. Well come to find out we were fighting the same fish. We thought, "One of us must have snagged the other when the fish ran". But the rainbow had both of our hooks in its mouth! Before one of us could set the hook, it gobbled up the other persons hook. That was interesting to say the least.

Bass were caught on plastics and top water frogs. Perch and walleye were caught trolling wedding rings, hooked with night crawlers, using a drop shot method to weigh them to the bottom. The trout were caught using 1 oz. weights, with about 2-3 leaders, utilizing powerbait.

The bass werent as active as we would have hoped, but we caught an assortment of species in three and half days time. We'll be back June 2nd for almost a whole week!
