Took Steve out to American Lake today for some Smallmouth action.

Rainy, slightly windy, and overcast most of the day, with water temps high 50's to 60. Water was fairly clear.

The cold front seemed to keep the fish from schooling in the morning as much as I have seen lately, and did not see a single female up shallow today. We caught 3 smallmouth, Steve with his new Personal Best Smallmouth at 3lbs. 10 ozs., and 2 smaller fish at about 1.5 lbs. a piece.
We caught them in water no deeper than 10-15 feet, with mixed rock and vegetation.
