Fished Panther Lake this morning in the rain. Trolled a black woolly bugger and a soft hackle green nymph behind a 4 wt intermediate line. I had no trouble finding or catching trout all about the same size: 10 - 11" all feisty, all on the green fly. They put up a good fight on the 4 wt and about half jumped out of the water which makes a more showy fight. Caught 8 in less than 2 hours plus a small crappie on the woolly bugger. Then a squall with lots of rain and wind blew through and I decided I had had enough.

ral, My brother and I worked that lake a week or so ago using a full sink fly line trolling at an idle speed (15 HP) using a black and olive bugger and just a plain black bugger, hooked and released 53 ended up keeping four 14 to 16 inch range in an 8 hour period. When working the shallow water around 10 to 11 feet we were only using 50 feet of our sinking line once we started working water in the 15 foot or more depths we used all 100 feet of it. The trout we were releasing ranged in size from 8 to 16 inches, the larger ones would really hammer it ,was quite fun, worth the trip and the effort.
