Up early as usual, hanging out on the computer, when I noticed some decent weather out the window. So I decided to take a walk down to the lake for a little exercise, and to see if I could play tug-o-war with some fishies. After a bite to eat at a coffee shop next to the lake, got started fishing about 06:45. Got a couple strikes pretty quickly spincasting the trusty orange/silver kastmaster. Got a solid hook-up about 07:15, brought him to the bank, where a fellow angler netted it for me. This was fortunate since I had no net, and was fishing on a wall above the water with the light line, and the fish was not tiny at 14 inches. Then the dilema was how to keep fishing, after keeping this fish, without a stringer or bag. So I went back to the coffee shop, and successfully begged for a plastic bag and some ice. I felt bad when the girl behind the counter gasped and jumped back when I held up the fish -- sorry. So I walked back to the shore to the same place, and hooked another fish on the first cast! Unfortunately this fish shook the hook next to the wall I was standing on. I got a few more strikes then banked a smaller 11 incher. Started walking around the lake a little to see how others were doing. Many other anglers out, not a lot of fish being caught, but another guy using a silver kastmaster had about a 20 incher on his stringer. Then it started to drizzle a little, so I decided to walk home. I like starting a day like this. :)
