6/2/2010 7:34:00 AMActually, it turns out the dogs got to eat a bit of the cats (Yes, the fish, not a feline!). To AJ's dad: I saw one in South America that could have. Chicken works better though, according to the locals. Those were actually the second nice string this year. Are there more than ever in Potholes and the seeps?

6/2/2010 3:15:00 PMWhat kind of Catfish are those? I have caught a fair number of bullheads there but never any cats! I can't say for sure but looks to me from the photos like they have a rounded tail??? All catfish have a forked tail and bullheads a rounded tail...

6/2/2010 7:52:00 PMBlues are a bit less rounded on the tail, but you can't see the tails on these from those photos. Channels are the brown ones with even pointier tails than the others. The tails on these are pointed, though. The bass next to the big one is the only tail visible, other than one dog's. If you want sheer numbers of catfish, and fair sized ones, any of the lower Snake river areas, or where it joins the Columbia, are excellent. Now through the 4th of July have been my best times. Night fishing is very good there, but you can catch plenty in the daytime. Basically drift around with bait (worms, shrimp, anything meaty), on or near the bottom.
