Saturday this weekend was beautiful despite a cool wind.

The lake water temperature is slowly rising. It varied during the day between 60-63 degrees. The sunfish are just starting to nest, so the bass should soon follow.

Fishing for bass is still very slow, but trout are great. We boated 18 fish. 1 LMB, 4 trout, and the rest were pumpkinseeds. We lost 4 other trout and a bass.

I rarely use live bait and use larger baits for larger fish. I don't catch the most, but I often catch the largest. Not this week. I boated the only LMB, (a small one) and an adequate trout.

P. boated 1 trout caught on a Little Cleo and 7 pumpkinseeds on wedding rings with worms.

K. was the man. He boated 6 pumpkinseeds on wedding ring with worm. His Rainbow came on a Little Cleo spoon and the silver came on a large Rapala Minnow Rap. (Pix attached.)

We only kept the silver as we'd not eaten one in a couple of years. All else lived to grow bigger!
