June 5th was my 11 th day at Downs lake fishing. This trip the weather was a mayor factor in the fishing. Those of you in the Spokane area certainally remember the rain and wind and more rain and more wind. A few boats still attacked the lake but came back to the docks, as I did.
On May 26 th i did fish for 3 hours and was able to find 2 largemouth bass which were way back in the pads, they licked a 3 in grub. Also 1 small perch and a trout both caught on a small jig with a white skirt and stand off hook with a night craller on it.
the weather kept my boat at the dock from may 27 to the 5 th of June. On the 5 th of June spent about 5 hours fishing. I picked up a couple perch, 1 crappie and 1 trout which all were hooked of a small jig and white skirt except the crappie, it grabbed a small jig with a red and white skirt.
I did see a couple limits of trout off the dock and a couple crappie. Also Ron and Darla caught several bass later in the evening all of then were in the slot. Their bass and all of mine were released.
Will be back in a couple weeks and hoping the weather and fishing will be much better.

Hey Kris! Sorry to hear about the tough fishing at Downs. Hope the next trip is better. Maybe Ill get a chance to meet you out there this time around. We definitely need some decent weather to get the fish a bit more active. Water is still in the high 50's everywhere and its JUNE! I expect Downs is a bit warmer because its shallower than most. I just got a freezer full from Roosevelt over the weekend. Ill give you a ring soon. .....Chris K.
