Hit the lake just after 5am. Trolled along the banks south of the boat launch, just by the submerged rocks fishing a YUM watermelon lizard. Nailed the first fish of the day; little smallie. Continued on, pulling in a very dark colored rock bass. The wind was playing heck on trolling close to the bank so I switched to a craw colored rattle trap and bam, nailed a nice 3 lb smallie. Day continued on with good fishing, lots of bites. Boated 5 smallies and 2 rock bass. The best catch of the day was a 3.5 lb smallie on a spinnerbait. I was fighting the wind so I switched to a big white and silver spinnerbait, rolled it over a weed bed, let it sink on the edge and no sooner did I continue the retrieve, BAM, hit it like a freight train. Great day, we need some more of these warm days to keep the bass active! Tight Lines all!
