Hit the lake despite the monsoon about 6am. Was going to head to American for smallies but decided to stay local. Trolled along the shoreline opposite the boat launch headed south. 20 mins into my day I felt like I got hung up in the tall weeds. Once I saw the commotion and felt the weight I realized my luck! Carefully had to horse the hawg through the weeds. 5 lber on a 6" dark green senko, my first LMB of the year and my personal biggest bass! Fished for about 4 more hours along the banks and lily pads, had a few more tugs on the senkos, and had one chase a big black spinnerbail but no more takers. I also got a free skirted jig that was hung up in the weeds that my troller tangled when I hauled the bass in. Great day! Tight lines!
