What a beautiful day on the lake. (In fact, for we cool weather lovers, almost too warm part of the time. But at least the wind didn't blow us off the lake as normal.) Outdoor temperature about 65 degrees and lake varied between 63.5 and 66 degrees. We saw many schools of pumpkinseeds sunning near the surface and a fair amount of small bass moving shallow as well.
A big difference from just last week. I suspect many of the LMB had just spawned.

Two of us fished 10-4pm today and we boated a total of 27 fish.

K. boated 15 total. 2 small LMB, 1 trout, and the rest pumpkinseeds. The panfish came on weddding ring with worm. The trout on Little Cleo spoon. We only fished twice, briefly for trout...maybe 20 minutes total.

I boated 12 total. 3 pumpkinseeds caught inadvertantly on small Rapala lures. The 9 LMB were all caught on plugs. The largest two were only about 1.5 pounds but nice and wide. Most of the bass came on a silver and black jointed Wally Diver and a gold lipless crankbait with rattles. All of the bass looked like they had just spawned, and most were caught in very shallow water (1'-3'). I rolled a trout on a Rapala Minnowrap, and lost another on a Little Cleo spoon.

P. wasn't with us today as he was in Eastern Washington. He and two others fished a pond and no one caught a thing. We had to rub it in a bit - that he should have stayed home and fished with us.
