Headed out to American Lake today with my buddy LMBDave and one of our friends.

We pretty much cruises the shore stopping by and fishing the docks.

We were targetting the smallmouths but caught a bunch of other fish as well!

Part of the day I spent experimenting using new lures that I had.

I caught a ton of Rock Bass using all sorts of lures!
These lures included a 1/6 oz Inline Spinner, a Strike King Bitsy Minnow Crankbait, and a Pumpkin Pepper Mister Twister 3" Curly Tail Grub rigged up on a 1/8 oz jighead.

I also caught a yellow perch using the curly tail grub.

I caught my first Smallmouth Bass of 2010 using that same inline spinner which was a dink but still my first smallie!

I bought some Mister Twister G Grubs online earlier this year and caught my first fish using them! I caught a 12 oz Smallmouth Bass using a Grape Flake 3 inch G Grub.

The primary method I used was bottom fishing was soft plastics.
Sorry but I can not disclose an information about what type of soft plastic I was using because it seems to be the magic weapon this year at American for the smallies!

I caught another 12 oz Smallmouth Bass as well as my personal best smallie!
She was a beauty and weighed in at exactly 3 lbs!

It was a great day out on the water today!
I was constantly catching fish left and right!
I caught well over 30 fish today :)

Congratz on you p.b.! American is a very fun lake right now, and knowing how big the fish get there keeps me going back for more. I'll be out there after work today huntin' those hogs.

If your trying to keep your bait a secret, maybe you shouldn't post a picture of it danging off the tip of your rod. Great looking fish.

haha code3daddy! nice observation...but senko is definitely not the secret weapon...the secret weapon is a magical little plastic lure that is a ruthless smallmouth killer! the senko is a good lure, but it lacks in imagination.
