Hit the lake at 5 am, beautiful morning! Started getting bites from the get go. Started the day pitching senkos, lizards, and turtleback worms in green, watermelon, and black, with red specks. The bite was on most of the morning but I couldn't get one to take to save my life. Starting to think I'm using too big a hook and too big a plastic for most of these smallies/rock bass. Anyhow, finally hooked one about 4 hours into my morning, lost him a few feet from the boat. About 10 mins later I decided to start cracking my craw colored X-rap shad to pull some rock bass. Second cast with the Rap and bam! 3 lb smallie in the boat, put up a good fight too! After that I hauled about 5 rockbass. Decent day after I caught that smallmouth, amazing what one fish will do. I also spotted another pair of monster largemouth in the weeds across from the rock pile south on the lake, very exciting! I'll be back after em soon!
