What type of lure were you using on your dropshot rig, also did you have any problem launching, and last but not least, what is the lake level? Rock is sure a pretty lake to fish, have only been there once, but would like to make another trip soon. Ken

6/22/2010 11:16:00 AMSourdough, drop shot is a method, not a lure or bait. It places the weight at the end of the line, then the hook is tied, normally with a palomar not, above the weight anywhere from 6" to several feet. You can put almost any soft plastic, nose hooked, on the hook, cast it out, tighten the line to feel the weight, then relax the line a couple of inches and then just shake the rod. Not this is a real oversimplification, but you cannot fish this method without making the soft plastic look alive. Yes, bait can be used, but.......... Note, this method works when the fish are on or near the bottom.
