Got the pontoon boat out on Haller around 8am Saturday. Tried a few things, but a natural green/brown roboworm rigged on the ol' shakey head was the ticket. I worked the spaces between docks and pads, casting to the shore and slowly dragging it back to the boat. I'd pause everyfew feet and just let it sit. Got the one below, hooked two others but they threw the hook when they got to the surface and jumped. It's a little harder to set the hook with one of these vs. a 3/0 EWG Gamma worm hook, so after the first two I just decided to give a "one Mississippi" when I felt a take then really haul off. so yeah.

If you read my last report I had a similar experience again this time. I'd gotten the shakey head almost back to the boat, and based on my angle to the water and with my galsses I could see straight to the bottom. I gave it a little wiggle and up swim two really big fish. They both nose at it a little then swim away. Why can't I get these big girls to commit? I'll tell you what, I'm on a mission now.

oh, and no love for the watermelon senkos this time.

great report. ive fished this lake a couple of times. i was out there for only about 30 min saturday evening, but this guy was there fishing and his two kids constantly throwing rocks in the water every 5 seconds.. i had a big bite on a drop shot rig but it didn't take it all the way.

I tried to post a pic of the one I got to the boat, don't know why it hasn't shown up.
