Hit the lake about 5am with my roommate. Trolled the shallow flats pitchin' 3" green lizards and watermelon/blue flake and black/red flake crazy leg chigger craws. Slammed rock bass all day long, caught 40+. Switched to a 3" rapala jointed shad rap (shad color) and boated two smallmouth and a rainbow trout. Biggest smallie was about 3lbs (didn't weigh or measure). All fish C&R. Best part of the day was the fact that I think I've got my roommate (who didn't fish before this year) hooked...no pun intended! Looks like I'll have company on the Allison from now on! Tight lines all!

NIce fish. I wish i could have good luck with bass. I will have to rent a boat and get out there sometime. Do you think a yellow perch rapala X-rap would produce? I would just like to start catching bass.

Funny you say that, I was thinking about ordering a yellow perch x-rap, I'm gonna say yes. Seems logical that that would be very effective in this lake. I LOVE that crankbait, they've hit it here on both a shad color and a red crawdad color. Don't worry, you'll get into em one of these days!

Also, that rapala jointed shad rap. The 3" version is the one that dives to 15 feet right? Because that one seems kind of large for that size fish.

You know, come to think of it, its probably the next size down from that, cause that one doesn't dive 15 feet.

One more thing, did you rig that chigger craw weightless? And with what size hook? Im thinking about buying the 3 inch chigger craws, but im not sure how to rig them. Thanks for your help!
