6/27/2010 2:25:00 AMI had no idea there were Sunfish in the Lake .... WOW !! I watched a fishing program years ago, where they took an Electric Knife and without gutting them, they would Fillet off the choice "part" from the sides , then cut the skin off, and deep fry them. With the Electric knife, they were able to fillet two 5 gallon buckets of those little guys in like an hour!!

Fyi - People who keep any of sunfish they catch are doing us all a favor. They are really a nuisance fish, don't get very big and deplete an area of food rather quickly.

6/27/2010 8:37:00 AMyeah man i caught a squawfish after u left killed it and threw it in the bushes! i hear you on that too... C&R is fun even though thier the panfish and the bass to fish for ou t there.

6/27/2010 9:04:00 AMThrow the squawfish into the water and let the crayfish eat them, then more crayfish for the bass, then more bass for US to catch. :-)

6/27/2010 12:35:00 PMhm.. i don't really consider sunfish a nuisance fish.. i consider squawfish and carp a nuisance fish.. and i somewhat agree about taking some fish so the others can get fat but taking 40 - 50 babies per person is just overkill. and sunfish do get pretty big, you've probably just never caught them. sunfish have been caught over 2 lbs before.

6/27/2010 8:30:00 PMThat is really nice to hear about your success at Logboom. I have always blacklisted that dock for years. It is a HUGE DOCK. It could have such potential for so many people without boats. But up until this report from you.... I have ALWAY struck out here. I will have to give it another try. That was good how you doubled up on the photos, I wish I new what you did??

7/2/2010 10:23:00 AMGreat photos - i've read a couple of your posts and enjoy the writing as well as the variety of fish that you catch. I recently just started learning to fish again and i'm hooked this summer. (as a kid my Dad used to take me to the ferry docks around edmonds) but that was mostly shiner perch and clam digging on our camping trips.) Anyway, thanks for the interesting posts and hope to catch you around sometime.
