I got on the water at noon and started fishing with sinking line since there was no surface activity at all. The air temperature was 68º, partial high overcast and a west wind from 5-20 mph. Insect activity was light, with only a few Mayflies seen around 3 pm. The water was clear and the surface temperature was 63º. There were a few light green algae cluster suspended in the water.
I primarily worked the north side of the lake inside the 3 coves. The evening before I developed a new fly pattern that I'm calling the Yellowjacket which proved to be very effective.
At 5 pm I changed over to floating line and tried a BiVisible until about 6:30 and had no rises. Surface rises were very few and far between. Most were very small Cutthroats.
I caught about 20 cutthroat averaging about 11" and one rainbow that measured 15". I released the rainbow and kept 4 cutthroat.
