Out on the float tube from 12 - 3 PM. Went straight across to the other shoreline straight from the boat launch. Found a school of sunfish in 10 feet of water. I was on top of them and dropped a worm down. None of them took the worm. I think I spooked them since my fins were probably right above them.

Trolled all the way down to the southern part of the lake with no takers. Watched a girl lose a trout at the dock because she didn't have a net. I decided to still fish and tie my float tube to a log. I made a cast with power eggs tipped with a tiny peice of nightcrawler. A holdover takes my bait within minutes. I set the hook and immediately feel head shakes. I get to the fish close to the tube and it would make a run back to deeper water. This happened a couple of times and eventually my knot fails. I never got to see the fish and I was bummed out. I have caught the stockers from here before and they didnt fight like the one I had on.

Trolled back to the dock and went to Spring Lake to redeem myself. Didnt see any other dock anglers catch fish. Spoke with one boat and they had 1 trout. Tough lake to fish.

Wow, Desire has just been brutal this year. Last year it was so easy to limit out it was almost a joke. This is the lake I always fish, but it's been WAY slower than last year for most everyone. It makes no sense, they planted about 6K, yet the bite is way down from last year, I think they planted 7K last year. It just seems like almost from day 1 it has been that way. I wonder if the crappy weather had something to do with it?? People out in boats are not even limiting out as much as usual. It sucks when your favorite lake just goes t.u. on you. They do have some nice holdovers in there though.

The weather, temps and I believe the barometric air pressure has alot to do with it.
