I started fishing about noon and went up the east side of the lake. The water was fairly clear of algae and the temperature was 70ยบ. There was a light variable breeze and mostly sunny. The air temperature was in the low 80's.
It wasn't until I got up to where the homes are when I started reading fish on the fish finder. I worked the area by where the compressor bubbler is. I was first using my Yellowjacket pattern and got a 17" Brown. After awhile I moved out into the deeper center of the lake. When I was in 50' water, a thermocline showed at about 23'. I was getting a lot of soundings of fish just above that depth.
I proceeded over to the west side of the lake by the path and caught a 19" fat Brown on a black Woolly Leech.
At about 5:00 pm I started trolling back towards the launch. Going down the center of the lake, I saw a lot of fish on the finder, but could not get anymore strikes. There were a lot of young Damselflies hovering over the water surface. I did see a couple of violant rises near the shoreline on the southwest side. They may have been taking Damsels out of the air. The day was generally slow, but did manage to land two nice browns.
