Headed out to Silver Lake Thursday evening. We did okay despite the mid 90 degree temperature & all the wakeboarder's & pleasure craft racing around the lake. I landed a little Tiger Muskie in the first 5 minutes of our drift using a Blue/Black Pig N' Jig w/a 3" Berkeley minnow as my "PORK". After releasing the little Tiger i immediately hooked into my 1st Silver Lake Smallmouth, he was only 10" or so but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. We then headed back to a spot near the launch where we had marked a lot of suspended fish @25 feet on the sonar. We jigged there for 20 minutes with no luck. Headed back to the spot where i caught the muskie/smallmouth & hooked a nice 2 lb LM. As the sun went down we moved again, this time to a part of the "stump field" we had never fished before & ended up landing a couple 10"- 12" dink LM. Just as it got dark my buddy pulled a 4 lb 3 oz. LM out from under a dock. It was a perfect ending to altogether good night @ Silver Lake. My friend Pat's holding his 4lb 3oz in pic #1 & pic #2 is me with my 2lb LM. As always all fish were released. **If you've noticed i'm wearing the same shirt in all my pics it's because I am. It's my so called "lucky shirt" & everytime i don't wear it it's like having a crate of bananas in the boat. Because something always goes wrong = Dead batteries(plural), Small fish, No fish, Etc. Remember NO bananas!> : ) -William

Hey Bill, great to see someone pulling in some nice Largemouth on the Cheney lakes, don't see many reports from them, saw your post on Badger too, did the lillies on the south end of Badger produce? Also, have you and Pat been out to Chapman this spring/summer yet?

iliv2fish- Yeah we did land few fish around the lily pads not much size to the ones we caught though. We did get two LM on consecutive casts from under the 2 docks on the eastside of the pads that were both 2#. Earlier this year we did some really nice LM & SM coming from those same docks. We seemed to do better in the little bays especially the largest one on the westside about 1/4 mile North of the launch. It has nice steep drop offs & a lot of good docks for flippin'. We have yet to hit Chapman this year but are planning to do so soon. I read your posts on Loon recently, i've fished their all my life with my Dad for Kokanee but only Bass fished their occasionally. Always either in the North pads /channel for LM or a couple of the rocky points for SM. So i took your advice & headed to the old net pen on the NE side during a break from trolling for Kokanee last Saturday & nailed a nice 3# LM on my 5th cast! I am heading out to Fan in the AM, another lake i've fished a lot but only for trout. Have any suggestions? Thanks again for the great posts. -William

My last visit to Fan was back in Aug 2008, it was the most recent bass post under my old name of JT. Just caught a few dinks, the north side around the island is said to hold some nice one's, there's a nice cove on the west side with allot of downed trees. There is an open area up north through the passage, but be careful, the perch may tear up anything you throw in there. Didn't get that much of a chance to attack the the bass like I normally do, the wife was buggin me about trolling for the trout! Also, remember that it's a "5 mph lake, no gas motors".
