Hit the lake about 7:00 AM. Not sure what time I actually had gear in the water. Caught three Koke's, 13 to 14 inches. As an earlier report said they seem to be a little tight mouthed. Watched fish come up and follow my dodger before laughing and swimming off all day long.
Caught all three on a 1.5" Apex behind a Sepps Sidekick dodger at 70' to 80' depth. One piece of corn on each hook on the Apex. All caught on the East side of the lake. Marked some fish on the finder by the aerator, but saw noticeably denser concentrations on the East side. Tried several other setups on the second rod, but only saw one bump on that rod.
One of the three had the "bugs" It was a skinny thing that had been hooked before. The eye opposite the side I hooked it on was black and it had a hole in the gill plate on that side.
A pair of DNR biologists doing a survey came up within talking distance while I was trolling. Nice guys. They asked a few questions, complemented my boat, and were on their way.
