Floated the portabote in little Haller for the first time, and this was only the second time fishing this urban lake. It has VERY little public shore access. I squeezed my bote pass some bushes and big rocks to get it to the shore and launched. And it feels like you are fishing a private lake, I was casting a lot close to docks, and everytime I got close to one particular one, the home owner, who was doing yardwork, would happen to come to his shore to run his leaf blower. I made eye contact with him once, gave him a nod, but he just glared back. All a part of the adventure!

Anywho, I ended up C&Ring numerous LMBs and even a couple three rock bass. What worked was spinncasting small roostertails very close to docks. I did catch a few on a perch pattern rapala as well.

Weather was cool and a little foggy at 6:30am when I started, but the sun was out when I pulled out at 2:30pm. Got a bit breezy a few times. Water temp started out about 70, finishing at 74. Three other boats where in the water, two of them were toons, and one skippered by none other than zerobpm. And Gringo Pescadore was there for some reason, so I met him for the first time. One private dock had anglers. Near the end, one adult was swimming around the lake, but nobody else was recreating in the lake other than the anglers.

It was a good clean fun day!

cool man, i stopped by the public access on 125th street, dinky park and me without a boat was no go! Man some people hate fishers. Was intimidated so folks that thought fishing must yield right of way to anyone else that wanted to use the shoreline. Your leaf blower guy reminded me of that. Well, at least he did own that part of the shore. I was at greenlake. Some people....

It was nice to meet you Urban! Yeah, I just get up at the crack o dawn and pick radom parks to hang out at. Actually, I thought Quad was meeting you there and I had something I wanted to send to the WL.com picknic with him.
It seems (from my experience there) the warmer the weather, the larger and more scetchy the crowd is at that little park. I know there were a few times last summer where I just turned around and went back home or someplace else. Quad, Motoboat and I fished it the evening before from 7-10pm, there were only a couple guys there when we launched, when we got out of the water about 10pm there was nobody there, but whole area reeked of alcohol.

good running into everyone I ran into! I myself caught a little guy on my first cast, skipping a senko under a dock. I think the key with Haller is get there early. Two weeks ago I started the morning solo, and when I pulled at 1pm I carried the 'toon through what looked like a family reunion! Everyone was cool though, asked if I caught anything, etc. It's a good place to been from 6am - 11am though.

When I finished fishing, there was a party of four young adults there playing fetch with their dog and lounging in the sun. Dog would not fetch a ball out of the water, so I brought it in for them. When I was struggling to drag my bote filled with all of my gear up the hill back to the car, one of those guys offered to help me drag it up. Very nice! And he offered to help again a little later when I was breaking the bote down. His eyes looked a little glassy, but that didn't seem to slow him down much -- said he needed the exercise. :)
