Thought the overcast forecast would mean decent fishing this morning. Guess I was wrong. Got on the water right at 5:30am. Ambient temp was 56 degrees and water temp was 70. Slight breeze. Started fishing alternating between a pumpkin senko and a perch colored shadrap. After 30 minutes I had only had one hit on the shadrap. Swapped out my senko for a crawfish colored/shaped creature bait that I t-rigged with 1/8 oz weight. Started getting little nibbles on that right away. Lots of nibbles, but nothing gulping it down. The bite was on and off. Finally hooked into something a couple hours into fishing. Pulled up a dink. Not too long after that hooked a smaller dink. The wind had come up right after I started fishing and was a real pain. Couldn't make up it's mind on direction. Tried a few other spots trying to get out of the wind. Got some more nibbles, but the wind kept finding me, so finally gave up at 8:30 with just the two fish landed. I hate wind when I'm fishing! All fish caught on the creature bait and no other luck on the shadrap or senko. Temp was still only 58 when I got off the water. Tight lines.
