Been working on the house the last 4 days so decided I needed a break. Headed down to Bonney Lake at 8:00pm to try to catch some perch or sunfish. Went to the spot that has been good to me the last 3 times I've been down there. My dad and I were there the other night and caught LM bass (biggest was 9.5 inches), perch, bluegills and 6 rock bass. I have my two pole endorsement so sent one over the side to the bottom with a worm for perch and put a whole worm on the other rod, set the bobber at about 8-9 feet and casted towards shore. I've never caught a rock bass over 6 inches but tonight, I caught two that were 8 and one that was 10inches! That's the biggest rock bass I have seen. I caught a few LM and a bunch of perch. About 5 minutes before I was going to leave the rod over the side started bouncing. I picked it up expecting a perch. I set the hook and my rod bent clear over. I was using an ultralight rod with 4lb test and # 10 worm hook. After quite a fight, I landed a 14 inch, 1lb Bullhead! I knew they were in this lake but did not know how big since I had never caught one. He swallowed my hook so I cut it off and put on a #12 worm hook (remember, I'm fishing for perch and figured the bullhead was a fluke). A minute later the rod starts bouncing a bit so I pick it up, set the hook and it wouldn't budge! What a battle, after a few minutes of very careful handling of the rod, I landed a 15 inch, 2lb Bullhead! The little hook got him right in the lip! I don't know if I will catch another one in that lake again but those two were good enough for me!
