I went to Howard Lake in Snohmish county Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Monday fished 1:30pm until dark 9:15pm. Caught 50 largemouth bass most were small but caught about 8 that were 9" plus and two larger fish 12" and 11". I fished mainly with top water rapala minnow in green color and size 5. Caught a lot in lilly pads, in front of pads, around and behind docks in 1/2 ft of water and between docks at dusk. Had several times were I got a hit on every cast. Lost about 12 others that were on my line including one larger one that saw the side of. I was only one fishing on Monday and it was just starting to get sunny when I got there.
Tuesday I went again about an hour later 2:30pm until 9:30pm. Tuesday was hotter and sunnier and windy...I tried reverse direction went to right from boat launch and circled the lake. It was slower day had only 15 bass in boat until last two hours then heated up and wind died down caught another 25 bass including 15 around one dock. Largest was 11" and lot of 6"-9" fish. Caught them on top water rapala, swimming larger rapala in bass color and one on spinner bait.
So two days fishing 90 Bass landed and most on top water.
Good lake for lots of action and the 7pm-915pm top water bite is pretty good. Did have to deal with some swimmers in the lake and go around those docks.
Have to try this lake in am and see if it is better. Water was very clear but you could still catch fish close to shore or docks.
Not bad for only 2nd and 3rd time ever fishing there.
