A couple buddies and I hiked down form the highway to the lake (1mi). We rented a boat and motor from the lodge ($95) per day and camped at Big Beaver for a couple nights.
We fished primarily mourning's and evenings. First day missed the morning bite but kept 5 nice sized 14-16 inches for a nice supplement to our dinner,
Saturday up early on the lake with great success, We trolled around the mouth of Big Beaver, as well as across the lake near the McMillan camp site, We all limited (3each) size 14"-18". These are native rainbow that put up a nice fight, which can be a bit of a challenge with barb-less single hooks.
Sunday we only fished a couple hours as we had to head home, caught three which we took home.
I don't think the trip could have been any better. Reunion with some buddies I rarely see, the weather was in the 80's every day, very few people on the lake, not one mosquito. It was a great revisit to a lake I haven't been to in about thirty years, By the way the established camp sites all have docks, flattened areas for your tents, secure bear boxes for your grub, and out houses.

Thanks for the report Paul. I've fished this lake twice, but over 10 years ago. We went in from the Hozomeen side and this has always been a place that stands out in my mind. Simply some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen! Great looking fish too....
