Took my wife down to Lake offut with our new boat, suprised to see such a horrible boat launch but didnt really care, just focused on the water and testing out my new boat. We lowered the boat in and we immediately saw fish jumping all over, getting excited I set up our equipment and deployed bottom fishing techniques.

About 40 minutes in with no catches or bites, we began to move around abit to other places. Throughout that time fish were jumping and surfacing all over the place. Another fisherman told me trolling with a wedding ring would work fine, but with a 65 horse motor trolling was next to impossible. I noted an area at the end of the lake that looked like a good area to fish around some lilly pads. I put on a crank bait and proceded to fish for bass.

As soon as it hit the water I pulled in a 7 inch SMB, wasnt big but gave me a sence of not getting skunked. My wife was now using a bobber and worm and couldnt catch anything untill i directed her to a good area, as soon as her bobber hit the water "BAM" a perch. She consistently caught more and more SMB and perch, but nothing bigger then 6-8 inches.

I even got daring and used my 8 foot Pflueger Fly rod 5-6 oz and pulled in some perch using a black with red wing fly.

All in all it was fun, very beautiufl lake. But watch the boat launch, that same day I ended up bending the crap out of my prop due to my ignorance and a so called Gap in the launch stone pallets. Tight lines.
